Hancock Business Association to hold second annual KIDS DAY event

HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) – The Hancock Business Association is preparing to host its second annual KIDS DAY event.

Families are invited to participate in a variety of free and low-cost activities across Quincy Street. These include returning events such as archery practice at Northwoods Sporting Goods and ‘Princess Day’ for girls 4 to 10 years old at Celebrations Bridal & Formal.

“It was very popular,” Hancock Business Association Treasurer Carol Freeman said. “I know there was probably at least 200 to 300 children in the city and we’re hoping to even get it bigger this year.”

New additions this year include free fruit tasting at the Keweenaw Co+op’s new location. The association encourages families to manage their time between events carefully following last year’s turnout.

“A lot of people last year,” Freeman added. “They did archery but didn’t get to a lot of other places. Three hours is not a whole lot of time…. what would the kids like to do first and go from there.”

The event will be April 5. The business activities will run between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The event’s free movie will be held at 5th and Elm at the Orpheum Theater, running from 2-4 p.m. You can check out the full list of events and times by clicking here.
