
The Mentos Fizzookas rocket is a piece of digital weaponry for players of the Fortnite Creative video game to be on the lookout for as a fun way to elevate their gameplay. The digital blaster comes as part of Mentos Sweets’ partnership with the video game and plays on the experiment of plopping the rounded candies into a bottle of diet cola, which results in an explosive experience. The partnership comes as part of the brand’s foray into catching the attention of Gen Z consumers with a reported one in three playing video games daily and roughly 75% playing weekly.
Brand Manager Sarah du Plessis spoke on the Mentos Fizzookas rocket saying, The Mentos x cola experiment first came to fame in 1999 and has been a mainstay on YouTube, TikTok and social media sites ever since. Now, with the invention of the Mentos Fizzooka, it seems there’s still plenty of fizz left in the famous experiment! We know gaming is a rich territory to connect with younger, Gen Z audiences and our latest foray into Fortnite Creative is a natural extension of our strategy to keep the brand fresh and relevant by engaging consumers in new and unexpected ways.
