The Crawford County Public Health announced its 2024 Food Safety Award winners.
The awards, given annually, recognize food establishments that demonstrate exceptional efforts in food safety, according to the announcement.
The food licensing year in Ohio runs March 1 through the end of February the following year. Crawford County Public Health (CCPH) began the Food Safety Award Program in 2012, and the number of recipients has grown significantly since then.
Blythe Delise, director of environmental health, oversees the licensing and inspection program for all food facilities licensed with CCPH.
“This is the largest number of facilities we have ever recognized with food safety awards,” Delise said. “The inspectors show up unannounced for their inspections and it is not easy to win either award. Our initial year of presenting food safety awards resulted in 10 award winners and it is great to see that number grow each year. This demonstrates our local facilities are truly committed to ensuring that the food they serve is prepared safely.”
