“Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” out Thursday after two delays, could turn Ubisoft’s fortunes around. But the game faces headwinds. Many fans have soured on the franchise’s formulaic approach, and far-right figures like Elon Musk have balked at the inclusion of an African samurai character who is based on a real person from feudal Japanese history.
