Kenny Brooks named Sporting News Coach of the Year

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) – In his first season as Head Coach at UK, Kenny Brooks has earned himself the Sporting News Coach of the year.

Kenny Brooks led the Wildcats to a 22-7 overall record, and a 11-5 conference record.

In the post season the Wildcats secured a 4-seed in the SEC Tournament, and a 4-seed in the NCAA Tournament, which they will host.

The Wildcats also broke nine school records, sold out four games, and won five games against AP Top 25 opponents.

The next stop for Kentucky is the NCAA Tournament will they will face Liberty in the opening round of the tournament on Friday, March 21 at noon.
