Food debris on meat slicer, worker not washing properly on this week’s Dirty Dining report

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for March 19, 2025:

West African Cuisine – 7017 N 19th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85021

3 major health code violations

• No bodily fluid clean-up kit
• Food worker not washing hands properly
• Employee handled raw fish and then food containers

BJ’s Restaurant and Brew House – 21001 N Tatum Blvd, Phoenix, AZ 85050

3 violations

• Worker handling dirty dishes, then clean dishes, then not washing up
• Chicken wings not cooling properly
• Cole slaw and milk not kept cold enough

Carniceria Mi Casita – 4203 N 19th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85015

3 violations

• Food employee not washing hands properly
• No soap at hand wash sink
• Cooked beans out of temperature

The Stone Korean Tofu House – 6910 E Hampton Ave, Mesa, AZ 85209

4 major violations

• Fried rice not held at the proper temperature
• Hand wash sinks blocked with miscellaneous items
• Raw eggs stored over noodles
• Meat slicer with food debris

The Bear and the Honey Bistro – 13216 N 7th St # B2, Phoenix, AZ 85022

4 major violations

• Kitchen sink blocked by trash can
• White organic matter on produce
• Raw eggs stored over cooked brisket
• Green pizza and cooked cabbage kept past discard dates
