Union Looks to Sign Video-Game Workers in Stepped-Up Organizing Drive

The Communications Workers of America union is stepping up its organizing efforts in video games following thousands of job losses in the industry.

The union has formed the United Videogame Workers-CWA Local 9433, officials announced Wednesday at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The goal is to “build worker power irrespective of studio and current job status,” the UVW-CWA said in a statement.
