Royals, they’re just like us.
While at the Six Nations match between England and Wales this Saturday, Prince William and wife Princess Catherine gave some insight into what they do on weekends with their children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
“At weekends, we go from one competition to the next,” William said while meeting athletes supported by the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, per Hello! magazine.
Kate said: “Louis is six and he’s just started touch rugby and George is 11 and he plays a bit more. They do really enjoy it.” The princes take after their father, who also played rugby growing up. Kate, meanwhile, played many different sports, including field hockey, tennis, an netball.
Kate added of her kids: “They’ve been exposed to lots of different sports.”
This weekend was not the first time the Princess of Wales has opened up about her children’s love of sports. Back in 2022, she said: “They’re all enjoying it [rugby], Louis is kamikaze, we’re worrying about when he gets older, he’ll be in the middle of everything.”
Kate also once shared that her daughter, meanwhile, loves gymnastics, and “spends most of her time upside-down, doing handstands and cartwheels.”
William is the Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, while Princess Kate is the Patron of the Rugby Football Union in England, so the match on Saturday brought out a friendly rivalry for the royal couple. “We’re terribly competitive. The fact we’re now supporting two different teams is going to make things interesting,” Kate joked in 2022.
