Mac and cheese bites sold at Whole Foods Market are being recalled over concerns that the product may contain eggs and meat ingredients.

C.H. Guenther & Son LLC of San Antonio, Texas initiated a voluntary recall of its 365 Whole Foods Market Small Bites Macaroni & Cheese because it may contain undeclared eggs and meat ingredients,” according to a March 14 notice on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website.

“People who have allergies to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the notice said.

What Whole Foods Mac and Cheese Bites are being recalled?

The voluntary recall was issued for the 8.5 oz cartons of 365 Whole Foods Market Small Bites Macaroni & Cheese sold at Whole Foods Market stores in the frozen food aisle nationwide.

The recall was initiated after C.H. Guenther & Son received a consumer complaint stating the “product contained meat and was not a macaroni and cheese bite.”

While the company did not reveal how many units of the product were impacted, it said “no illnesses have been reported to date.”

The affected product UPC code and lot code, according to C.H. Guenther & Son, are:

  • UPC code: 99482499709
  • Best-by date: 11/29/25
  • Purchase dates: 2/6/2025 – 3/11/2025

The company added the issue has been “corrected and no other manufacturing dates or lots are impacted.”

What to do if you have recalled boxes of mac and cheese

Customers who purchased the impacted boxes of “365 Whole Foods Market Small Bites Macaroni & Cheese” based on the lot information listed “are urged to destroy any remaining product” and can take a valid receipt to the store for a full refund.

Consumers can also contact CH Guenther & Son at 1-210-227-1401 with additional questions or queries.

“CH Guenther & Son LLC takes allergies and food safety seriously and has implemented preventative measures to prevent any future occurrences,” the company said in the notice.
