TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —Gemstone climbing hosted a courageous kids climbing event today in Twin Falls
The organization is based in McCall, and they do climbing events for children with special needs across the west from Seattle to Prescott.
Courageous kids climb was helped by the Twin Falls Fire Department to give these kids a fun time.
It also gives firefighters training time with climbing skills and helps kids with special needs be comfortable with those in uniform.
“A lot of these kids don’t get the opportunity to do stuff like this.” Said Jefferey Riechmann, organizer of Courageous Kids Climbing. “So we’re getting them out in an all inclusive environment, we don’t force them to climb, we let them do what they want to do, we let the be themselves and just have fun and get them out of the house”
The event lasted until 3 p.m. and the firefights had a tour of their truck afterwards to the kids.
