Women’s Golf to Tee Off at Bama Beach Bash – Eastern Kentucky University Athletics

RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University’s women’s golf team is set to compete at the Bama Beach Bash hosted by UAB beginning on Sunday in Gulf Shores, Ala.

The 54-hole tournament will be played at the Gulf Shores Golf Club over three days.

Competing for the Colonels will be Claira Beth Ramsey, Dili Sitanonth, Elizabeth Tucci, Imogen Jessen, and Karra Tucker with Maddi-Jo Benton playing as an individual.

On the season, freshman Karra Tucker leads the Colonels statistically with a scoring average of 76.75 through 20 rounds.

She is closely followed by fellow freshman Imogen Jessen as the Australian has put together a scoring average of 76.93 strokes through five events and 15 rounds.

The tournament will mark just the second appearance on the season for Tucci who made her debut at the UNF Collegiate finishing at eight-over tying with Claira Beth Ramsey.

Benton returns to the course for just the fourth time this season having last played at the Lady Red Wolves Classic last October.

Sitanonth will look to regain her form from the BGSU Women’s Intercollegiate in February where she shot a 74 and a 72 in the final two rounds of the competition to earn her second top-20 finish of the season.

As a team, the Colonels are looking to rebound after struggling last time out at the UNF Collegiate, where they finished in the back half of the field.
