Preston Man Shows Off His Passion at Chrome in the Dome

A Preston man showed off his passion at an annual car show over the weekend.

Ryan Burnett showcased his 1936 Chevy truck at the ‘Chrome in the Dome’ in Pocatello on Saturday.

Restoring the truck was a five-and-a-half-year labor of love that required an extraordinary commitment to detail and craftsmanship.

The project involved extensive custom machine work and custom fabrication.

Ryan says the truck has a C5 Corvette engine, transmission and under-carriage in it.

It cost him around $80 thousand dollars to restore, with him doing all the work on it himself.

Ryan liked the style of the pickup and had a dream to build a truck from the ground up.

He says the truck tells its own story.

“So the passion of this truck is when I laid in bed at 10 o’clock at night and I would think of things that I was going to do to it. I had to go over it in my head many times and so I would just get up at 1 o’clock in the morning and go out there and start pounding on it, so I mean the love and the most of the part of it is huge for me,” says Ryan Burnett, Truck Owner.

Ryan says he finished the truck about a year ago.
