PowerWash Simulator is getting a sequel later this year

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors

PowerWash Simulator is a strange game with a strange appeal, where either you totally get it and want to play, or you think it’s the most pointless idea for a video game ever. Whichever category you fall into, you can’t deny that it’s been a big success since its launch in 2022, with the developers, FuturLab saying more than 17 million players have tried it.

With numbers like that, it’s no surprise that a sequel is in the works with a 40-second reveal trailer confirming that PowerWash Simulator 2 will release later this year, letting you meticulously blast dirt off of even more filthy environments with focused jets of water.

The game is set to launch on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, and on top of that, Eurogamer confirms that a Nintendo Switch 2 version is also in the works, with details to come at a later date.

As for the gameplay, this time you’ll have a hub area as the base of your operations and your PowerWashing journey will continue, as this game’s story carries on from where the last one left off. That’s right, the PowerWash games have a story that really needs to be seen to be believed.

Either way, it means there’s still time for anyone who hasn’t yet taken the plunge to see what all the fuss is about. Then maybe you too will understand the satisfaction that comes from making a very dirty thing not so dirty anymore – especially when you don’t have to pay the water bill.
