The existence of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion’s remaster was first made public in September 2023 via a leaked 2020 internal document from Bethesda. Recently, more details about the game gradually appeared to piece together what we can expect from it. According to an MP1ST report, the remake is said to be “fully remade” and has been developed by Virtuos using Unreal Engine 5. “Brief descriptions of six gameplay systems that will be reworked are also provided: Stamina, Sneak, Blocking, Archery, Hit Reaction, and HUD.”
This could be great news for fans of the franchise while waiting for The Elder Scrolls 6, the next installment of the 30-year-old franchise. It has been under development for a few years and has entered early development since August 2023. Yet, it won’t be coming any time soon, as the CEO of Xbox and Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, said it’s “likely five-plus years away.”
