Food Truck Wednesday features local flavors at Wolf Pen Creek

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Food Truck Wednesdays are back in College Station.

Wolf Pen Creek’s Festival Site turns into a city-wide picnic with Food Truck Wednesdays. People can enjoy a variety of flavors from across the area with food trucks parked on-site.

“It’s giving something to look forward to, getting their minds off work, off stress, and being able to enjoy family and friends and have something to bring them together,” said Ethan Vacula, Activities Assistant with College Station Parks and Recreation. “It gets them outside, soaking up the sun.”

The City of College Station’s Parks and Recreation Department runs the event each year. They say their ultimate goal is to bring the city together to enjoy the outdoors. The department also offers plenty of yard games and music for eventgoers.

“My favorite part of the event is just seeing families come out here, all the kids finding random things to play with, enjoying the soccer dart board. That’s definitely our biggest attraction. Kids see that and just go straight to it,” shared Vacula.

Some of the trucks featured include Mocondo Grill, Carousel’s Soft Serve, and Something Different.

The trucks that come out are often different each time.

“We definitely want to support local food trucks and they’re super helpful, all have a different variety,” added Vacula.

Food trucks will be at Wolf Pen Creek Festival Site each Wednesday serving food from 6-9 p.m. The City of College Station’s social media will post updates on the weekly food truck lineup.
