Vote for Happy State Bank High School Athlete of the Week: March 1-8

Boys and girls basketball season is over in the Lone Star State, but powerlifting, track and soccer are in full swing as the spring semester progresses.

Standouts from each sport are among this week’s nominees for the Happy State Bank High School Athlete of the Week.

The Globe-News is taking weekly nominations and will release a list of finalists for the High School Athlete of the Week each Tuesday.

Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Saturday and can be submitted through email at [email protected], by messaging the Globe-News through its Facebook page or on Twitter @amarilloglobe.

Students in all varsity sports are eligible and can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport, and athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks.

The poll will close Thursday and the winners will be announced Friday each week.
