MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Two brothers were gunned down at a Cordova fast food restaurant.
This happened at Freddy’s on Germantown Parkway near Fischer Steel Road.
“We got off on I-40 just come to eat at Freddy’s. We heard great things about it,” said Gale Scott, customer.
Scott was caught by surprise after he ordered food at the drive-thru at Freddy’s on Germantown Parkway.
“We just drove through the drive-thru and saw the window was smashed,” said Scott.
Memphis Police said officers responded to a shooting at 825 Germantown Parkway around 7:25 Sunday evening.
They said two brothers, ages 22 and 23, were in their 2014 Buick near the drive-thru.
Police said the victims looked out their car window and saw a man nearby.
Then, shots were fired at their car.
Investigators said the victims tried to escape the gunfire by driving onto the grass of the restaurant leading to Germantown Parkway.
Just seconds later, they drove through the opposite side of the intersection of Germantown Parkway and Fischer Steel.
Officers found their car at the utility pole with at least 13 bullet holes.
24 hours later, Freddy’s restaurant is left with tire tracks, a shattered window, and a bullet lodged between the windowpanes, leaving customers like Gale Scott even more concerned about the growing gun violence in the Bluff City.
“I lived in D.C., New York area and it seems like there is more violence here than there is there. We need better gun control,” said Scott.
FOX13 reached out to Freddy’s corporate office for answers. We are waiting to hear back.
Police said one of the victims was shot in the arm and lower back.
They do not have a description of the shooter.
