VA man charged with assault after incident in fast food restaurant parking lot

A Virginia man is charged with felony assault, resulting from an argument in a fast food restaurant parking lot in Rehoboth Beach.

30-year-old Charles Gehman attacked a 65-year-old man during a dispute over traffic and parking in the lot at Popeye’s in the 19,000 block of Coastal Highway Saturday morning, Delaware State Police said.

The victim suffered minor injuries, and Gehman got into his car and drove away, but troopers caught up to him a short time later.

Gehman was released on an unsecured bond after being booked on a charge of assault causing injury to a person over 62.
