Taste Washington, one of the country’s premiere wine and food festivals, kicks off in Seattle, Washington next week, and it’s not too late to get tickets. This year marks the 25th annual event, which showcases the top culinary and winemaking talent from Washington State and the Pacific Northwest.

The lineup includes 11 events, including chef collab dinners, seafood-centric tastings, seminars, a dance party, and Sunday brunch — as well as the signature Grand Tasting event at Lumen Field. Here are the highlights from next week’s festival events.

The Grand Tasting | Saturday & Sunday, March 15-16 at Lumen Field Event Center

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the festival’s signature event boasts more winemaking and culinary talent than ever, with over 200 wineries and 80 restaurants.

Wineries from Washington state’s 21 distinct AVAs (American Viticultural Areas) will be pouring their best wines. The pours will be paired with bites from dozens of the state’s top culinary talent, including Washington chefs Karuna Long of Sophon, Dan Koommoo of Crafted, Felipe Hernandez of Los Hernandez Tamales, and Maximillian Petty of Eden Hill — all of whom have received nods from the James Beard Foundation. The event will also highlight food from chefs hailing from restaurants in the broader west coast, including Azalina’s in San Francisco, The Acorn Restaurant in Vancouver, B.C., and Portland’s Akadi PDX and Norah.

In addition to the wine and food tastings, attendees can also look forward to live chef demos and Bubbles & Bingo.

The Seminars | Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Embassy Suites Pioneer Square

Hone your knowledge of Washington’s dynamic wine landscape with blind tastings, rare wine and new release samplings, and interactive panels. Seminars are led by the industry’s top experts, ranging from winemakers and growers, to Master Sommeliers and Masters of Wine (an impressive title held by just 425 wine experts in the world).

At “Northern Brights,” Leslie Sbrocco — host of PBS’ Emmy award-winning restaurant review series, Check Please! — will explore how the state’s white wines like Riesling and Grüner Veltliner have evolved over the past decade.

Sip Mourvèdre and extended-maceration Gewürztraminer at “Icons and Innovators.” Moderated by Chris Tanghe, a Master Sommelier and Director of Education at GuildSomm, the seminar takes a look at the iconic wines that defined Washington state’s wine scene, as well as the groundbreakers shaping its future.
