ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — According to the National Federation of State High School Associations, a record high of eight million participants competed in high school sports in the 2023-24 school year.
This comes after high school sports saw a dip during COVID and now, nearly five years later, participation rates are climbing.
