Recent market volatility (^DJI, ^IXIC, ^GSPC) is raising questions about the future of US economic growth, leading investors to reassess their portfolios. Zacks Investment Management client portfolio manager Brian Mulberry joins Wealth host Madison Mills to discuss these developments and their impact on investment strategies.
He emphasizes that the current volatility might be more about uncertainty than an actual growth scare: “A lot of the volatility is trying to answer the question, ‘is this really a growth scare or is it just simply that there’s some uncertainty on the path for future growth?’”
Mulberry also shares insights into market shifts, particularly the tendency to de-risk portfolios.
“We’re definitely seeing people come away from the more growthier, but also riskier, sectors of the market like consumer discretionary and technology, and look for better valuations,” he explains.
