WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina has appointed a new leader.
Amy Beros is the new President and CEO of the food bank. She joined us in the WECT Studio Friday to share more about the mission and hunger throughout our area.
The Wilmington area has seen a significant increase in those experiencing hunger.
“It has been a pretty significant increase from last year,” said Beros.
Beros says they’re not just addressing the immediate need to feed the community. They’re also looking for the cause of the problem.
