Alpharetta daycare at center of child molestation investigation shuts down

Kids ‘R’ Kids voluntarily shut down on Friday, according to the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL).

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — An Alpharetta daycare has closed its doors following months of controversy surrounding a former teacher accused of multiple counts of child molestation.

Kids ‘R’ Kids, located at 3455 Webb Bridge Road, shut down on Friday. The decision to close was made voluntarily, according to the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL).

The closure follows the arrest of 22-year-old Tulsi Patel, a former preschool teacher at the daycare. Patel was arrested in July 2024 after Alpharetta Police launched an investigation into allegations involving a 4-year-old girl. Since then, police said 12 children have been identified as victims.

Patel faces multiple felony charges, including aggravated child molestation, cruelty to children, and simple battery.

She was released from Fulton County Jail on bail in January after spending six months behind bars. Her charges include three counts of aggravated child molestation, five counts of child molestation, one count of first-degree cruelty to children, and nine counts of simple battery.

Police said they have completed their investigation into Patel, but the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office has not ruled out additional charges.
