Fontana gears up for monthly car show extravaganza

The city of Fontana is kicking off the start of spring with the first of their 2025 car show series, “A Classic Celebration of Automotive Excellence!”

Fontana plans to excite car hobbyists across town with five shows spanning into September. The first event is Friday, March 7, in Downtown Fontana. Advance registration is not necessary. All car enthusiasts are welcome to bring their classic vehicles if the guidelines are followed.

Besides displaying various cars, the event will host live music by El Pachuco, a band based in Murrieta that emphasizes dance, pop and old-school music. Vendors will provide food and drink, and multiple local artists will be in attendance. Fontana special events coordinator Diana Escobar is anticipating seeing the results of her hard work.

“We do have a lot of people that come from just different areas, and they enjoy coming to this event,” Escobar said. “We’re excited for it to be back, so just hearing back from the people and then the excitement and taking pictures and just seeing how people get excited over the cars, as well as our entertainment. It’s something that we take pride in.”

The annual Fontana car show series fosters a vibrant community for car hobbyists. It represents a way to connect with others of similar interest and unite the city to enjoy their night. Escobar emphasized the importance of coming together to celebrate the car collecting circles.

“They get to meet other people that enjoy doing this, getting their vehicles ready for the event, and then just an unforgettable evening, like with our entertainment, like the food, and then just the different display of the vehicles that we have. Not each event is the same,” Escobar said.

Since moving the event from the civic center to Spring Street, there have been little roadblocks for the organizers to rev up the show. To provide a smooth experience for attendees, the city is always seeking to adapt, and so the car show will now start at 5 p.m. and end earlier at 8 p.m.

“This is just an event for the whole family. So as long as they come in and take the time to enjoy the car show, they won’t be upset over it; they will definitely have an amazing night,” Escobar said.
