WEBB COUNTY, Tex. (KGNS) – With spring break around the corner, a local group is pushing for foster kids to have the same fun as other children.
Sara Cantu with Voz de Niños says a federal law protects a foster child’s right to do normal activities, like going to camp or visiting friends.
“These kids already go through so much,” Cantu said. “They should have the same chances as any other child their age.”
She also says events like Laredo’s Kite Fest help foster kids feel included.
