
An investment-banking veteran who helped fuel Michael Spencer’s rise to billionaire status was hired by the ICAP founder’s family office as an adviser, highlighting the often close ties behind the global elite’s wealth firms.
Piers Davison, 51, who previously worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Citigroup Inc., was recently named a director of Spencer’s investment company, IPGL, according to UK registry filings. He joined in December, the same month J Douglas Rhoten, 70, stepped down from a similar role at the London-based firm, the filings show.
