We’ve turned another page on our calendars and Pokémon GO players know exactly what that means for them: A fresh wave of Spotlight Hours is inbound, sweeping in a welcome windfall of in-game resources. Three different Pokémon will be in the spotlight during the upcoming events planned for March 2025 and one of them is especially juicy.
In case you’re not an experienced Pokémon GO veteran yet, here’s a quick rundown of what Spotlight Hours are: Every Tuesday between 6 and 7pm local time, this weekly event boosts the spawn rate of one – and sometimes more – selected Pokémon.

Of course, this is a great opportunity to stock up on that species’ Candy to evolve or level it up. It’s fortunate for those hunting a Pokémon’s Shiny form, too, as the increased spawn rate means that your odds of encountering such a rare variation rise. In addition to those advantages, Spotlight Hours come with a dedicated bonus designed to help you replenish critical in-game resources like Stardust and Candies.

- March 11: Roselia – 2x Evolution XP
- March 18: Shellder – 2x Catch Stardust
- March 25: Cutiefly – 2x Catch XP
The Spotlight Hour to be highlighted in March 2025 is clearly the one happening on March 18. Not only is the 2x Stardust bonus the most valuable one on the table, but Shellder is one of the few special Pokémon in the game which provide an automatic Stardust bonus when caught. Stacking this extra Stardust with the bonus from the Spotlight Hour is the most efficient way to farm this vital in-game resource that’s available to players, so be sure to take advantage of it.
You should also save any evolutions you can currently undertake for March 11, 2025, if you’re still below the maximum level.
All of the Pokémon participating in this month’s Spotlight Hours are available as Shinies, so with a bit of luck you’ll be able to make some progress on your Pokédex.
