30th Annual Iris Festival Features Week Full Of Events

Reverting back to the days when Main Street: Greeneville would sponsor events leading up to the Greene County Partnership organized Iris Festival, Partnership President and CEO Jeff Taylor told Greeneville City Council members Tuesday several events are scheduled in the downtown area prior to the 30th annual Iris Festival May 17th and 18th.

Monday, May 12 – Pop Up Art Show in Bicentennial Park

Tuesday, May 13 – Iris Festival Run and Walk

Wednesday, May 14 – Church night

Thursday, May 15 – Dueling Pianos at the Capitol Theatre

Friday, May 16 – Music on the Terrace at General Morgan Inn

SUNDOWN ON DEPOT CAR SHOW

In conjunction with the Iris Festival, Todd Collins reported to the City Council the Sundown on Depot Hot Rod and Antique Car Show will be held Saturday, May 17th.  Proceeds will benefit Holston Home, AIDNET, Isaiah House and Parker’s Path Foundation in Morristown

VOLUNTEER STATE AUTO CLUB CAR SHOW

Later in the year Collins reported, the annual Volunteer State Auto Club car show is scheduled for July 19th.  The show, after returning to downtown Greeneville last year, will do so again this summer.  Proceeds from the event will go to Isaiah House and AIDNET

8TH OF AUGUST FREEDOM DAY ANNUAL STREET DANCE

The George Clem Multicultural Alliance will host the 8th of August Freedom Day Annual Street Dance  on Friday, August 8th in downtown.
