BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Brazos Valley Food Bank has a new event debuting next month.
An evening of culinary creativity at the Pantry to Plate Chef Challenge, and Amanda Stark with the food bank said this has been a year in the making.
“It’s a fundraiser for the food bank, and we’ve got three local chefs competing. They’ve got 30 minutes to find their ingredients and compete and make a dish judged by three local celebrities. Then, we crown the winner at the end of the night as our Chef Challenge winner,” she described the process.
The event has sponsor spots available, and if you can’t make it to the event, you can vote for your favorite chef on the web page by donating online.
“It really culminated in this perfect storm of food and creativity. Of course, these funds go to support our agencies and our programs, and we’re moving into the summer, already looking at higher temperatures. So, [we’re] thinking about summer months ahead and that’s when our resources are stretched,” added Stark.
