LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) – A community is stepping up to come together and keep the memory alive of a young man whose life was cut short.
As they work through their loss, friends and loved ones are organizing a car show to celebrate Cash Gaudio’s passion, honor his legacy, and support a cause dedicated to making a difference in his name.
“Cash was so caring and kind to everyone and anyone. He would take the shirt off his back for a stranger if he needed to. The event is on March 16 at 2pm at the Boonsboro shopping center, so lets make this a big turn out,” said Savena Royal, a family friend.
The car show, Gears for Gaudio, is set for March 16 in Boonsboro. Organizers are asking people to wear either orange for gun violence awareness or purple, which was Cash’s favorite color.
“Cash’s love for cars was so immense. He had a detailing business with his best friend, which was actually a good business. He knew every bit, about every type of car there was,” said Royal.
All proceeds will go to the Live Like Cash Gaudio Foundation, helping to turn tragedy into action and honor his memory.
Nathaniel Pridemore is charged in the deaths Christina Hamilton and Cash Gaudio last September. On Monday, a judge set Pridemore’s preliminary hearing for April 29.
