CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Members of the Cleveland Teachers Union are holding a walk-in and rally Tuesday to raise community awareness about proposed cuts to federal and state funding for public schools.
Tuesday’s event will be held at Memorial Elementary School before school begins.

Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb is expected to attend.
According to Cleveland Teachers Union President Shari Obrenski, the cuts would have “disastrous” consequences for Cleveland’s students.
- 8,641 children would be denied special education support
- 4,317 bilingual children would be denied ESL services
- No more opportunities to learn a trade before graduation
- More crowded classrooms
