Food Lion recalls ground beef sold at Gastonia store

GASTONIA, N.C. — Food Lion is asking customers who shopped at one of its stores in Gastonia to check their fridges and freezers for ground beef that was prepared on Saturday.

The Salisbury-based company said in a news release three varieties of fresh ground beef may contain traces of foreign material. The beef was prepared in the store at 2211 North New Hope Road on Saturday with a sell-by date of March 3, 2025.

The varieties in question include all sizes of 73% lean fresh ground beef, 90% lean fresh ground chuck, and 93% lean fresh ground beef.

Customers are told not to eat the beef and can return it to the store for a refund equal to double the purchase price as part of Food Lion’s “Double Your Money Back Guarantee”.
