TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Seeing and touching reptiles is an exciting experience that will have kids gushing for days! But for children with autism, the experience can be too overwhelming at times.
Now, Bierman Autism Centers (BAC) is stepping in by creating a special experience for kids this weekend!
BAC is hosting a free, sensory-friendly reptile experience, offering children with autism and their families an engaging and interactive learning opportunity. The event will have a welcoming environment that encourages kids to explore and engage with reptiles hands-on.
Children can meet turtles, lizards, snakes and other cool animals. Kids can learn all about the fascinating creatures thanks to the knowledge of expert handlers.
“We’re always looking for ways to provide inclusive, fun-filled experiences that foster joy, learning, and community,” says Tahra Cessna, EVP of Services. “Our sensory-friendly reptile event offers families the chance to connect, learn, and create special memories in a welcoming environment.”
Hands-on, reptile-themed crafts, activities and snacks will be available at the event.
