Maritime Museum Offers Kids’ Summer Camps

The Door County Maritime Museum (DCMM) will host two kids’ camps this summer: the Life at a Lighthouse Camp at the Cana Island Lighthouse in Baileys Harbor and the Ocean Exploration Camp at the Sturgeon Bay museum location.

During the Life at a Lighthouse Camp, set for June 16-20, students will make recipes that lighthouse keepers would have made, discover how they and their families entertained themselves, and learn the ins and outs of water rescues.

The Ocean Exploration Camp, which runs July 7-11 and is back by popular demand, will dive into the impact of land use on the oceans, coastal and deep-sea ecology, how coral reefs live and thrive, and conservation challenges and successes.

Both camps are open to rising 5th, 6th and 7th graders. Space is limited. DCMM offers a three-tiered pricing structure with varying class fees to accommodate a range of financial needs. For more information, visit dcmm.org/roboticscamp.
