EA Revealed Restored Source Code for Four C&C Games

EA released a fully recovered source code for its several classic titles, which include several Command & Conquer games, and added Steam Workshop Support for some of the more modern games.

The code has been released under the GPL license for the following titles: Command & Conquer, C&C: Red Alert, C&C: Renegade, and C&C: Generals. With the release of the code, the company encourages the fans to create content and support the games, keeping them playable for future generations. You can find the code for the projects on EA’s GitHub.

Another novelty is the highly anticipated Steam Workshop Support that will be available for C&C Renegade, C&C Generals & Zero Hour, C&C 3 Tiberium Wars and Kane’s Wrath, C&C Red Alert 3 & Uprising, and C&C 4 Tiberian Twilight. EA has also updated all the Mission Editor and World Builder tools, which allows for publishing maps directly to the Steam Workshop. Apart from this, the company has added another update, which had been “another wish from the community for almost 15 years”: the launch of a C&C Modding Support pack. It contains the source Xml, Schema, Script, Shader and Map files for all the games that use the SAGE engine.

Also, EA released a video of newly discovered footage from the C&C Archive at EA for C&C Renegade and C&C Generals featuring alpha gameplay and prototype cinematics:
