CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Cheyenne Police Department is warning food truck vendors about a scam currently plaguing the capital city involving fake Cheyenne Frontier Days permits.
That’s according to a social media post from the CPD, which states that a scammer using the name “Michael Francis” is emailing food truck vendors throughout Wyoming, pretending to represent Food Biz Concessions.
Food Biz is Cheyenne Frontier Days’ official vendor, but Francis is not a representative of the company.
“The email contains a fraudulent permit application and a request for payment via Venmo or PayPal,” the post states. “This individual is not affiliated with CFD or Fun Biz Concessions.”
The CPD says that if you receive an email or any sort of contact from this individual, or see or hear something suspicious, you should call the Cheyenne Dispatch Center at 307-637-6525.
“Remember to always verify companies and workers before entering into an agreement or making a payment,” the post states. “Help spread the word to protect food truck vendors from this scam.”
