
Kiwanis Club of Marco Island hosted 5 Terrific Kids from Tommie Barfield Elementary third grade on Feb. 20; along with their families, police officers and teacher Georgiana Dolan.
Natalia Bruno, according to her teacher, consistently demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility and respect for others. Her friendly nature makes her a positive influence in any setting. Natalia has the best mom and dad, two little brothers and a dog named Rudy. Outside of school, she plays softball and violin and loves to fish, boat and play with her friends. If she could have any superpower, she would love to teleport to any point in time. Natalia would like to visit Italy to see her many relatives there and sample the good food and ice cream. When she grows up, she wants to be either the first girl president, an explorer or an archaeologist.
Teacher Mrs. Hester says that Omar Lora excels in every subject and is the first person to help a student when in need. He has such a kind heart and is a great example of what a leader should be, truly a Terrific Kid. Omar has five sisters and seven dogs. Outside of school he likes to play video games. His superpower of choice would be Telekinesis. Omar would love to travel to Africa to see the apes and when he grows up, he wants to be a pilot.
Lacey Greif, according to her teacher, Ms. Parker, is a model of respect and consideration towards both peers and teachers. She is always ready to lend a hand to those in need and offer a word of encouragement to anyone having a rough day. Lacey frequently shares her drawings, writings and musical ideas with others, inspiring her classmates to embrace their own artistic talents. Lacey has a younger brother and sister, as well as a Great Dane, a border collie and a ball python. Outside of school, Lacey likes to read, draw and roller skate. If she could have any superpower, she would like to be able to fly. She would love to visit her old house in Pennsylvania because she misses it, and when she grows up, she wants to be a singer.
JR Hudspeth, according to teacher Kelsey Matthiesen, is a respectful, competitive and enthusiastic individual who excels both on the soccer field and in his love for reading. His positive energy and strong work ethic make him someone others look up to. His inclusive attitude ensures that no one feels left out, creating a welcoming environment wherever he goes. JR has 2 sisters and a dog named Tilly. Outside of school, he loves to play soccer. His superpower of choice would be super speed. If he could travel anywhere in the world, he would like to go to Alaska because he could then ice fish and go dog sledding. When JR grows up, he wants to become a professional soccer player.
Finn Peters, according to his teacher Mrs. Dolan, is an exceptional kid who stands out for his kindness and hard work. He always makes others feel valued with his friendly demeanor and thoughtful actions. Finn’s positive attitude and work ethic inspire everyone around him, making him a true leader. Finn has 2 little sisters and a dog named Bear. Outside of school he likes to swim, play baseball, and go fishing If he could have any superpower, it would be to breathe under water. He would love to go to the Bahamas to fish. When he grows up, Finn wants to become a baseball player, perhaps for the Yankees.
