MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – The Krusin Klassics Car Club is preparing for its 40th and final Fun Run car show this May.
The event is popular but not going away because of a lack of interest.
Board President Mark Caswell says the members are getting older and it’s time for them to hang up their keys.
He, along with Bill and Debbie Brunette, joined the crew on Upper Michigan Today to talk about their final show and the future of the Fun Run in Escanaba.
Plus, Marty Achatz and Andrea Marsh of the Peter White Public Library stopped by for an All Booked UP chat!
But first, Tia Trudgeon and Elizabeth Peterson share stories of the day.
The Krusin Klassics Fun Run will occur at the U.P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba May 30-31.
Caswell says the show usually features upwards of 800 classic cars!
He adds that this event raises funds for the community, including a major scholarship for Bay College, through raffles and auctions.
The Escanaba DDA plans to continue the Friday night parade and some aspects of the Fun Run on a smaller scale in the future.
Switching gears…
The UMT and PWPL crew recap Sally Rooney’s “Intermezzo”.
Andrea Marsh says this book might be too sexy for the modest reader.
You can join UMT to read Roz Chast’s “Can’t We Talk About Something More Pleasant?” in March.
It’s also the National Endowment for the Arts’ Big Read book.
The library has 200 copies to give away for free!
It will also host programs relating to this graphic novel all month long. You can find the calendar at pwpl.info.
And finally, the literary episode wraps up with All Booked UP Pictionary!
You can watch Upper Michigan Today on weekdays at 9:00 a.m. eastern on FOX UP or stream the show on your smart device.
