Greer Park Kids Zone to undergo deconstruction to pave way for ‘world-class facility’

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – Greer Park Kids Zone, a long time Lawton staple, is set to enter its deconstruction phase on March 4.

The deconstruction process is expected to take three days, and will also cause the Kids Zone to be closed for at least three months, allowing for the construction of a new and improved play unit.

“We are not deconstructing the entire park, but rather the play unit within the park,” Parks Supervisor Michael Glaze-Lyle said. “This is a crucial step before we can begin resurfacing and constructing the new Kids Zone, which will provide a world-class facility for our community.”

Upgrades are being funded through PROPEL CIP 2040.

“This new space will foster community engagement, health, and relaxation, providing opportunities for residents to connect in a unique and meaningful way,” Michael Glaze-Lyle said.

The park is expected to re-open in mid-June 2025.
