
Four kids are safe after they fell through the ice at a pond in Attleboro, Massachusetts, the town’s police chief confirmed Monday. The incident happened Monday afternoon on Lee’s Pond in Attleboro, just after school let out for the day.The father of one of the kids said when he tried to help them off the ice, he also plunged into the frigid waters. “His friend fell first, and then the guy screamed and also he and the other friend went to help him,” Alex Heng said. “And the other friend fell in, and Brandon tried to help them and fell in as well.”Footage from Sky5 showed a large break in the ice on the pond where the kids fell through. The ice on the pond was not fully frozen over at the time of the incident.Max Castro, who works at a car dealership across the street from the lake, said he also tried to help the kids.”The second one tried to help him and actually fell. We tried to help take the kids out of the lake,” Castro said. “I used a snow broom to try to help them.”The kids involved managed to crawl off the ice on their own and were not hospitalized for any injuries.
