Sandy woman reportedly tests 7 times Utah’s legal BAC limit with kids in car

A woman in Sandy has reportedly tested seven times Utah’s legal Blood Alcohol Content limit with her kids in the car.

Sandy police said the woman, who was not identified, had crashed into a mailbox and fled the scene, all while her three kids were in the car.

Police were able to find the woman at her home, where she took a Preliminary Breath Test that showed a 0.364 BAC, more than seven times Utah’s 0.05 legal limit.

The woman was arrested for DUI, hit and run and other unspecified charges, police said.

No update was provided on her children’s wellbeing. Police described them as “young children.”
