How to donate in the 2025 KARE 11 Food Fight

KARE 11 and the Salvation Army are teaming up once again for a month-long donation campaign.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Food Fight is back on!

KARE 11 is partnering with The Salvation Army for another year of our annual Food Fight, raising money and collecting food to help families facing food insecurity in our area.

Once again, KARE 11 anchor teams are competing to see which team can collect the most donations! 

Donations will be accepted for four weeks starting Friday, Feb. 28 through Wednesday, March 26 at more than 80 drop-off locations across the Twin Cities. Or, if you’d prefer to make a financial donation, simply choose your team and fill out the forms below!

FAQ

Where can I drop off food?

The Salvation Army is hosting more than 80 drop-off locations across the Twin Cities, including Slumberland stores, Blaze Credit Union location, Warners Stellian stores, and all Salvation Army Family Store locations and service centers.

KARE 11 will also host a one-day food donation collection at our studios located at 8811 Olson Memorial Highway in Golden Valley on Wednesday, March 26 from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Donors will receive a free treat to say thanks!

What type of food is accepted?

Any non-perishable food in cars, jars, boxes or bags. Donated food packages cannot be opened or damaged and items cannot be past their expiration date.

High-demand items include canned chicken and tuna, oil, pasta, rice, peanut butter, cereal, honey and coffee. There is also increasing demand for ethnic food.

Where can I go if I need food assistance?

The Salvation Army has seven service centers in the Twin Cities which all operate a food pantry for individuals and families in need. Additional pantries are located at The Salavation Army’s Blaine and Burnsville 360 Life Centers.
