Virginia Wesleyan is coming off an 80-59 loss against No. 4 Randolph-Macon. The Marlins are led by 6’6 junior forward Amari Moorer, one of the top performers in the ODAC this season. Moorer has led the conference in rebounding (7.9 RPG), third in steals (1.7 SPG), and 17th in scoring (12.5 PPG).
The Marlins sport one of the top defenses in the nation, allowing a conference-best 59.6 points per game and holding their opponents to 39.5% from the floor and 27.5% from three. Virginia Wesleyan also disrupts opposing offenses with their 7.5 steals and 3.4 blocks per game.
Lynchburg comes into this contest with three wins in the past four games, including a major victory in their previous contest on the road over Bridgewater, 67-66. Jake Hart is coming off an explosive performance with 10 assists and four steals. Hart continues to lead the ODAC in assists, up to 4.9 APG. Jonathan Foust has been a critical factor for Lynchburg as of late, averaging 10 points, seven rebounds, and 1.6 steals in his last three games.
The Hornets will celebrate their seniors, Jonathan Foust, Elijah Thomas Mason Makovec, and team manager Gianna Geary, in their final game in Turner Gymnasium.
Following this matchup, Lynchburg will suit up for a road contest in the ODAC tournament, opponent and time are TBD.
