
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana has named Jon J. Toups as interim president and CEO as the organization continues its search for a permanent leader, according to a press release sent Wednesday evening (Feb. 19).
The appointment aims to provide stability and direction during a critical period for the nonprofit, which serves thousands of families across South Louisiana.
Toups, a Louisiana native with a background in executive leadership and corporate administration, steps into the role immediately. His experience includes senior positions at national companies and administrative leadership within the Catholic Church.

The release said his appointment allows Dirk J. Wild to return to his full-time position as chief financial officer of the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Wild had temporarily taken on leadership duties at Second Harvest for the past three weeks and will remain involved as a member of the organization’s board of directors.
Second Harvest’s board of directors emphasized that the leadership transition is focused on maintaining the nonprofit’s operational strength and ensuring its mission continues without disruption.
The organization remains a vital resource in the fight against food insecurity, providing millions of meals each year through food distribution programs, disaster relief efforts, and community partnerships.
Toups brings extensive experience in streamlining operations and guiding organizations through periods of transition.
His past roles include serving as president and chief operating officer of Masterack, LLC, and holding leadership positions at LeasePlan USA and Pitney Bowes. He also spent two years overseeing administrative restructuring within the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.
