Jeremy Clarkson has filmed a TV segment for a motoring show in secret.
The TV presenter may be best known for his car background but more recently has become recognised for his efforts in farming thanks to his Prime show Clarkson’s Farm as well as his new job as the pub landlord at The Farmer’s Dog in the Cotswolds.
Now the former Top Gear and The Grand Tour star is returning to the world of cars for Car SOS to help deliver a vehicle back to a special someone. Clarkson is behind one of the big reveals where a Land Rover Discovery Series 1 is restored in secret.
Jeremy Clarkson to star on Car SOS
Car SOS is a motoring show with a big heart as it sees hosts Tim Shaw and Fuzz Townshend team up with a special car restoration team to refurbish vehicles for well-deserving owners who are unable to finish the job themselves. The owners don’t know about the restoration that has been put in motion secretly by their loved ones.

Sometimes the hosts have a little help from celebrity guests, previously having the likes of Gordon Ramsay on the show to help deliver the surprise to the owner.
Host Shaw has revealed in the upcoming series they have enlisted the help of motormouth Clarkson and Car SOS even filmed at his home. He told The Daily Star: “Jeremy was happy for us to bring a full coach load of people. I mean, think about it — 60 strangers turning up at your property!”
Clarkson likes to give off the image he is rather grumpy, however Shaw said the presenter was far from this and instead a “warm” character. He added: “We spent about half-an-hour with Jeremy and he was warm, friendly, and, of course, typically sarcastic and funny. He genuinely cared about the wellbeing of both the team and, most importantly, the car’s owner.”
In a Facebook video, Shaw also teased an F1 legend will also make an appearance on Car SOS to give back a car to another well-deserving owner.

He said: “We have just got to the end of episode eight series 30. We’ve just given a car back in a very well known electronics shop. It was one of the best reveals ever, involving a big F1 name who is an absolute living legend.”
Townshend scolded him saying “no spoilers” before also sharing excitement around the upcoming series. He said: “It’s been brilliant. We’re having a great time filming Car SOS. Two more cars to go and then we’ll let you watch!”
The end of The Grand Tour
It comes months after Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May said goodbye to their motoring show The Grand Tour after seven years.
The trio forged their friendship 20 years ago on the set of Top Gear and they took their skills to Prime Video in 2016 after Clarkson was sacked for punching the producer. Fast forward to now, the three friends have decided to give up in Clarkson’s words because filming the car show had become a lot harder now they’re “unfit and fat and old”.

Speaking about the end of the show, May told Yahoo UK: “It’s sort of sad, and I know people are sad that it’s over, but it couldn’t go on forever and we’re all getting on a bit… And we exhausted the idea fairly thoroughly, I think, so it’s like we quietly put it to one side rather than destroy it.”
When asked if it had hit him yet that that part of his life was over, May says: “Yes, it keeps coming back to me in quite small ways. I think in [The Grand Tour finale] I was talking about things like my green bag, which I only used for trips with the other two.
“And we’ve been quite spoiled in some ways, other people effectively organised your holidays, we just have to turn up and do the presenting and adventure bit. So now I’m going to have to organise my own holidays and probably only go on two a year, but I did it for a long time, I’m very grateful for it.”
Car SOS starts on March 13 at 8pm on National Geographic.
