SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – On February 21st is the third annual KenDUCKY Derby, and the Food Bank of Siouxland’s event has a new headline sponsor, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino of Sioux City.
So, what is a KenDUCKY Derby? A fundraiser for the Food Bank of Siouxland that will help provide meals to those in need.
Proceeds from the event will go to provide food to those in need. A single duck can provide 50 meals. Ducks will be available until 2 P.M. on February 20.
Participants who purchased a rubber ducky for $10 can watch as their duck is dropped into the pool at the Siouxland YMCA.
The first duck to reach shore will be the grand prize winner. The Hard Rock Casino, an affiliate of Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby, will give away a grand prize of two tickets to the Kentucky Derby and $500 in a travel fund.
Duck Prices
- $10 – 1 duck
- $40 – 5 ducks
- $100 – 12 ducks
- $150 – 20 ducks
- $200 – 30 ducks
Rules of the Race
- Participants may purchase up to 30 ducks.
- Participants must purchase at least 1 duck.
- Employees of the Food Bank of Siouxland or Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sioux City and immediate family members are restricted from participating.
- Participants must donate at www.siouxlandfoodbank.org/duck-derby.
- The prize is non-transferable.
- Must be entered by 2 P.M. Thursday, February 20
