CLEVELAND, Ohio – As a recruiter for Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, part of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Jon Wymer has been helping Cuyahoga County youth who linger in the foster care system find relatives and other connections, before they age out.
There is the 14-year-old who Wymer noticed was bouncing through foster homes but had had a biological uncle he kept turning to for support. The two had never considered adoption before, so Wymer helped them navigate the process and said they remain “happily together and doing really well” a year later.
