Syracuse, N.Y. — The Syracuse Police Athletic and Activities League will hold a basketball clinic for kids on Wednesday.
The clinic will be led by experienced coaches, who will provide hands-on training and mentorship to kids, said Jimmy Oliver, the director of community engagement for the Syracuse Police Department.
The clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Clary Middle School, at 100 Amidon Drive. It’s open to children ages 10 to 13 years old.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn new skills, engage with peers in a positive environment and connect with local mentors, Oliver said.
The goal of the clinic is to get kids exercising and build their sense of confidence in a positive environment. It also allows them to enjoy the game of basketball while connecting with members of law enforcement.
