Woman fatally shoots boyfriend after arguing about breakfast food, St. John sheriff says

LAPLACE, La. (WVUE) – A 24-year-old Marrero woman has been arrested after allegedly shooting and killing her 23-year-old boyfriend after arguing over breakfast food, according to the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a 911 call Sunday (Feb. 15) around 10:36 a.m., at a home in the 100 block of East Lakeview Drive in LaPlace.

According to authorities, Tamyrihu Hubbard called 911 stating she had shot her boyfriend, Joshua Jones, in the chest.

When deputies arrived, Jones was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hubbard told investigators that she and Jones were arguing over the food made for breakfast before the altercation escalated.

Hubbard was arrested at the scene and booked into the St. John the Baptist Parish Jail for second-degree murder.
