Food bank gets $100,000 grant

For a food distribution center with operations as expansive as All Faiths Food Bank’s, having a software platform that integrates various functions – from receiving and order management to shipping and invoicing, managing agency relationships and financial reporting – is critical. The William G. and Marie Selby Foundation’s recent grant of $100,000 will enable the food bank to upgrade its logistics technology, improving timeliness, efficiency, reliability and quality, and enhancing agency partner interactions.

The change will support AFFB’s goal of distributing more than 38 million pounds of food to as many as 120,000 neighbors annually by 2035. (The organization currently helps more than 80,000 people a year.)The system upgrade will enhance All Faith’s ability to design and control warehouse and inventory management processes and support technology solutions that will improve efficiency and quality across all operational, warehouse and inventory management processes.

The project – from training through launch – is expected to be completed and the new system online by September.
